From "trust me" to "here's the row it came from."

A concept for the operating system behind an RV rental investment fund — one dense tool for running a hundred-unit fleet, and one calm app for the investors who own it.

The situation

RV WeGo's business model is simple to say and hard to trust: raise money from investors, buy motorhomes, rent them out, and send back a share of what's left over. The entire relationship runs on one question investors keep asking in different words — is my money actually doing what you say it's doing? Most operators in this space answer with a monthly PDF and a phone number.

We were asked to design something that could answer with the underlying ledger itself: an operations system dense enough to run a hundred-unit fleet day to day, and an investor-facing app calm enough that nobody needs to call and check.

Understanding it together

We traced one rental night end to end — booking, fees, costs, net income, investor share — for a single unit. That surfaced the real constraint: an operator running a hundred vehicles and an investor checking on one need to see the same data, not two versions that could quietly drift apart.

We also found the two audiences want different depth — operators live in dense grids sorted by what's losing money; most investors just want to know once a month if they got paid and their van's busy, though about one in five want the full ledger. Designing for both without building two products was the real problem.

From prototype to complete concept

We designed two coherent systems on one shared data model, not a shared UI. On the operator side: a fleet view sorted by net yield and idle duration, a unit page where every cost books to a VIN before a category, and a bookings grid overlaying all three sales channels so a cheap gap doesn't get missed.

On the investor side: a portfolio home led by capital returned — the number that actually settles anxiety — plus a web view for the ones who want the full ledger. The hardest screen was the one nobody enjoys: closing the month, which walks costs → allocation → review → pay, and refuses to proceed while any cost line sits unallocated. This stands today as a complete concept, ready to move into build.

Our client -

a busy moving company — wasn't short on software. They already had a well-known CRM. On paper, it did everything. In practice, that was the problem: it did everything *except* fit them.

Terms & Conditions - the basics

Having said that, Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) are a set of legally binding terms defined by you, as the owner of this website. The T&C set forth the legal boundaries governing the activities of the website visitors, or your customers, while they visit or engage with this website. The T&C are meant to establish the legal relationship between the site visitors and you as the website owner.

T&C should be defined according to the specific needs and nature of each website. For example, a website offering products to customers in e-commerce transactions requires T&C that are different from the T&C of a website only providing information (like a blog, a landing page, and so on).

T&C provide you as the website owner the ability to protect yourself from potential legal exposure, but this may differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so make sure to receive local legal advice if you are trying to protect yourself from legal exposure.

What to include in the T&C document

Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
